Hi everyone. This is just a brief history in how BIPLDP became and about what we offer to our clients in the way of Digital Media Productions. Firstly let me try to enlightening you on the Digital Media phenomenon.

Digital Media is the new catch phrase that covers quite a base of products. Previously there has been and still is print media, Television and VHS/Beta type media and now there is Digital media.

What is DIGITAL MEDIA? Not an easy answer in the short version, however to try and sum it up simply, it is to do with the codex storage of media content in a format that is readable by a growing band of Media resources that has exploded since the first CD music was ever recorded.

With technology exploding globally, the demand is there to make DIGITAL MEDIA applicable to almost everything we rely on to give us the information we seek. From camera photos, to radio broadcasts, to television, movies, information technology is here to stay and I gotta say, it is great.

The old way of having your photos developed in print medium to only find out that you only have one or two photos that are worth having is now a thing of the past. With the Digital Camera revolution you can now choose which photos you want converted to print media and you can even have those photos edited to enhance the content.

This is repeated in everything that communicates with us in our day to day lives. Recording television programs is now all digital unless you are still using the VHS system. The explosion in advancement in the last 5 years has seen many expensive purchases become 'old technology' within 6-12 months and the need to stay abreast of the developments is a day to day issue.

Somewhere soon it will stabilise and the current NANNO technology where appliances are being miniaturize to unbelievable sizes, will take some trumping. I'm not saying it won't happen, but we are approaching several stop go signs that will at least pause the advancement.

This site is part of a service to our clients that provides a first contact for the services we can provide. There are a number of one off type services that we do that are not included in the information provided here. The captured data can originate from various source data types. For example:

The old VHS family videos are aging fast and are at risk of becoming unstable and unusable. Also, it is very possible that they may have already lost some of their image quality. Using editing, we can bring these memories alive with voice commentary, background music and time line titles so all can enjoy the experience.

Some examples of Photo enhancement and repair.

BIPLDP offer a Photo editing service for both printed and Digital sourced data. What is Photo Editing? Editing of a photograph can take many forms. It might be an enhancement, a change of background, a re-colouring of certain content, cropping of a feature in an existing photo, repairs to a damaged photo, an enlargement, it can be almost anything you want it to be. If you have an old or new photo and you want it edited in any way, we can help you. Some examples of the services we offer are:

• Wedding or other special event photos re-edited and presented in a Digital presentation,
• Old Black and Whites or News paper photos that need a clean up and presented in an edited format,
• Corporate Imaging: photos of your business presented in a promotional display,
• Any photos that are have been torn, folded, or soiled can be scanned and reproduced to their original quality and/or enhanced in a way that you want,
• A collection of photos, time based or otherwise, presented as a montage or collage,
• Photos where you want to cropped a certain part of to make a new photo,
• Red Eye removal or background replacement,
• Lighting and Contrast editing to enhance a favorite photo,
• Photos you may want enlarged to A3 size,

In any of the above examples, your end result will be a Digitally enhanced photo that can either be printed or saved as Digital file. Really, the range of edit options is amazing and there is rarely a project where we are unable to do something to improve the quality of an existing photograph.

We edit in a range of editing Software, the best being Adobe Photoshop CS3. We can offer some basic training in the use of Adobe Photoshop CS3 to help get you started. BIPLDPhas recently added Audio Conversions/Copying to our services. A number of clients enquired about having their old LP albums copied. We investigated the service and are now offering a service that converts your old albums to either a CD or DVD. We must say that if you can purchase the album in a marketed CD format than the quality and reproduction from that CD will be far superior to what we can do. However, if you cannot obtain a purchased copy of the album you have and you want it copied, we can help you.

If you want to do it yourself, you can purchase software over the internet for less that US$100 that does the job. BIPLDP provide a Conversion and Copying service for any source medium. This service provides a what you see is what you get service. There is no editing, just a DVD menu for each tape/CD/DVD copied. There are no enhancements other that converting the analog source data to digital format. For VHS and cassettes that have been stored well and are less than 10 years old, generally, the reproduction quality is very good. We will provide you with either a DVD (+R) or DVD (-R) copy or both if required. The types of conversions/copies we do are:

• VHS to VHS, or VHS to DVD, or DVD to DVD
• Audio CD's to CD or DVD
• Audio tapes to CD or DVD
• Mini Cam tapes to DVD or VHS,
• Mini VHS tapes to DVD or VHS,
• Handy cam Hard Drive content to DVD or VHS.
• We also do multiple copies of both DVD's and CD's,
• We can provide a quality case and printed cover for each copy if required.

For information purposes, a normal DVD (-R)/(+R) disc has storage capacity of 2, 4 or up to 8 hours in Extended Long play mode. We recommend up to 2 hours SP per disc for normal DVD's, more means a reduction in output quality. For more that 2 hours of content, we advise that you use additional DVD's.
